Order Confirmation
Orders must be placed through our "Shop" tab or "Inquiry Form". One of our team members will reach out to you within 24-48 hours.
We require full payment upon order confirmation to secure your spot in our calendar. This is applicable to all orders excluding contracts.
In the event a minimum one week notice is not provided, understand a $15.00 rush-order fee may be applied.
Artistic/Creative Interpretation
We do our utmost to create custom orders based on client specifications, however, differences are likely/possible as all orders are subject to our artistic interpretation.
Clients are encouraged to provide reference photographs and inspiration content but due to intellectual property and rightful ownership of certain designs/styles, Made By AKB makes no claims, refrains from and cannot guarantee duplicating another's work.
Food Colouring Disclaimer
During colour matching specifications, primarily for darker shades, it is important to note that food colouring is and can be volatile therefore, colours cannot be guaranteed. In the event that dark/deep colours are requested, more droplets of colouring may be required to reach a desired shade which may potentially alter taste.
Refunds/Returns/Exchanges
Because our products are curated through a handmade and concerted nature, we do not offer and accept refunds, returns or exchanges.
If, for some or any reason at all, you are unsatisfied with your purchase and feel it does not match your expectations, please contact our customer service team by emailing madebyakb@gmail.com within 24 hours from when the order was picked up or delivered. You must provide the following information such as photographs of all angles including product and packaging, a detailed description of the issue and information on how your item was transported/handled followed by how it was stored.
If there is a defect with the design, we advise clients to inform our team prior to accepting the order and we will gladly make any possible adjustments.
Please understand that in certain circumstances this is not a possibility and where it may be, additional fees will apply. As hygiene standards at held at a high standard at Made By AKB, we have opted to implement a final sale policy on all products.
Store Credit
Store Credit may be provided if an unsatisfied product is brought back where the quality of the order, texture and flavour is declared to not meet our standards. We are unable to consider store credit for desserts that are more than 25% consumed. Quality is determined solely at the discretion of Made By AKB. Store credit is based on how quickly the order has been brought to our attention, how much is consumed and the state we determine it to be.
Allergy Disclaimer
While we offer our patrons egg-free, nut-friendly, and gluten-friendly options, it is important to note that we are not a certified egg-free, nut-free, or gluten-free bakeshop. While we do our utmost in attempting to produce baked goods without the contamination of allergens, cross-contamination is likely as all products are produced within the same facility. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of allergens in our products.
By purchasing our products both in-store and/or placing an order through our other platforms, you deem "acceptance" of this public disclaimer, consume at your risk, and hold Made By AKB Dessert Shop Ltd. harmless of liability in the event of any/or allergic reactions, death, injury or other losses suffered.

Delivery
Made By AKB Dessert Shop Ltd. disclaims any liability for the condition or handling of products once they have been delivered. After delivery, it is the client's responsibility to retrieve their package promptly. The company is not responsible for any damage, loss, or deterioration of the products post-delivery. Customers are advised to ensure they receive and properly store their products upon arrival. By placing an order, clients agree to these terms and assume all associated risks.
Cancellations
We understand that life happens and your plans may be altered. In the event this occurs, we will do our utmost to assist you in making changes to your order while complying with our policies.
In the event that an order date is altered due to an emergency, the order may be transferred to another date without the loss of payment. Alternative dates are not guaranteed and must be within the following 90-day period. If an order is cancelled, any and all payments made are non-refundable.
For custom cakes and our catalogue cakes, cancellation requests must be submitted a minimum of 7 days prior to your event date. Payment refunds during this delicate time frame are provided on a case to case basis. If you are cancelling within less than 7 days notice and we have not started on your order, we will provide you with store credit to use on a future order.
For wedding cakes and custom contracts, we reserve the right to retain the non-refundable deposit in any circumstance.
