all orders must be placed through our “shop” tab or "inquiry form". if an inquiry form is submitted, one of our team members will respond within approximately 24–48 hours during business days. response times may vary during holidays, peak seasons, or high-volume periods.

full payment is required upon order confirmation to secure your spot in our production calendar. orders are not considered confirmed until payment has been received. this policy applies to all orders excluding signed contract-based bookings such as weddings or large-scale events.

please note that orders placed with less than one week’s notice may be subject to a $10.00 - $15.00 rush-order fee.

we always do our utmost to bring your vision to life based on the details and inspiration provided. however, because all products are handcrafted and custom in nature, slight variations are likely and all orders are subject to our artistic interpretation.

clients are encouraged to provide inspiration photos and reference content, however, due to intellectual property and ownership of certain designs and styles, made by akb does not claim, replicate or guarantee exact copies of another artist’s work.

when requesting colour matching, especially for deep, bold, or darker shades, please understand that food colouring can sometimes be unpredictable and exact colour results cannot always be guaranteed. lighting, mixing, ingredients, and finishing techniques may also slightly affect the final appearance of colours.

to achieve darker tones, additional food colouring is often required. this may slightly alter the flavour, texture, or staining properties of certain components such as buttercream, fondant accents, or fillings.

while our team always aims to get as close as possible to your requested colour palette, slight variations may occur as part of the custom and handcrafted nature of our products.

due to the handmade and custom nature of our products, we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges.

if for any reason you are unsatisfied with your order, please contact our customer service team at madebyakb@gmail.com within 24 hours of pickup or delivery. inquiries must include:

• clear photographs of the product and packaging from all angles
• a detailed description of the concern
• information on how the item was transported, handled and stored

if there is a visible design concern, we kindly ask that clients notify our team prior to accepting the order so we may attempt to make reasonable adjustments where possible.

please understand that adjustments are not always possible and, in certain situations, additional fees may apply. due to strict hygiene and food safety standards, all sales are considered final.

store credit may be considered if a product is returned and determined by our team to not meet made by akb’s quality standards in regard to flavour, texture, freshness, or overall condition.

products that are more than 25% consumed are not eligible for store credit consideration. all requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and evaluated solely at the discretion of made by akb. factors considered may include the timing of the concern, amount consumed, product condition, storage and handling after pickup/delivery, transportation conditions, and supporting photo or product evidence when applicable.

due to the perishable and handcrafted nature of our products, refunds are not guaranteed. made by akb reserves the right to deny compensation requests that appear fraudulent, excessive, inconsistent, or outside of reasonable timeframes. we always encourage customers to contact our team as soon as possible if there are any concerns so we can properly review and address the situation.

while made by akb does offer select egg-friendly, nut-friendly, and gluten-friendly options, we are not a certified egg-free, nut-free, or gluten-free facility. all products are prepared in the same kitchen environment and cross-contact between ingredients and allergens is possible.

although our team takes great care in minimizing cross-contamination and handling products responsibly, we cannot guarantee the complete absence of allergens in any item. customers with severe allergies or sensitivities should use their own discretion when consuming our products. all items are purchased and consumed at the customer’s own risk. please also note that allergen-friendly products may have differences in flavour, texture, appearance, or consistency due to ingredient substitutions and recipe modifications. availability may vary depending on production schedules and ingredient sourcing.

by purchasing products from made by akb in-store, online, or through any ordering platform, customers acknowledge that they have reviewed and accepted this public allergen disclaimer. made by akb dessert shop ltd. shall not be held liable for allergic reactions, sensitivities, illness, injury, damages, or losses that may result from the consumption or handling of our products.

made by akb dessert shop ltd. is not responsible for the handling, storage, transportation, or condition of products once delivery has been completed and accepted at the delivery location.

upon successful delivery, it becomes the client’s responsibility to promptly retrieve, refrigerate, transport, and properly store all products as instructed. made by akb shall not be held liable for any damage, shifting, melting, cracking, spoilage, deterioration, loss, or product-related issues that occur after delivery has been fulfilled.

please note that weather conditions, temperature exposure, uneven surfaces, extended travel times, improper handling, and delayed retrieval may affect the condition of cakes and desserts after delivery.

by placing an order for delivery, clients acknowledge and accept all risks associated with product transportation, delivery, and post-delivery handling.

we understand that plans, events, and circumstances can change, and our team will always do our best to accommodate modifications where reasonably possible while remaining within made by akb’s policies, production timelines, and availability.

in certain emergency situations, orders may be transferred to a new date without loss of payment. all transfer requests are subject to approval, availability, and must be rescheduled within 90 days of the original order date.

if an order is cancelled, all payments made are generally considered non-refundable due to advance scheduling, preparation, ingredient sourcing, and production planning. however, cancellation requests for custom cakes and catalogue cakes submitted at least 7 days prior to the event date may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for partial refunds or store credit at the sole discretion of made by akb.

if an order is cancelled with less than 7 days’ notice and production has not yet begun, store credit may be considered for a future purchase. once production, preparation, ordering of custom materials, or baking has started, no refunds, credits, or transfers will be issued.

for wedding cakes, dessert tables, event catering, and custom contract-based bookings, all deposits and payments made remain strictly non-refundable under all circumstances. for any cancellation, modification, or rescheduling requests, please contact our team directly at madebyakb@gmail.com as soon as possible.
